2nd hand smoke exposure causes serious death and disease, including heart disease and lung cancer in adults and sudden infant death syndrome, acute respiratory infections, ear problems and more frequent and severe asthma in children
there are significant economic burdens from cigarette use - in the US $96 billion per year is spent on these preventable medical expenditures and another $97 billion per year resulting from lost productivity
